I'm close to giving in

Ok—I want to buy a Nintendo Switch…
Here’s the deal…. Video games are and have been a significant part of my life and creative journey. I viscerally remember when the original Playstation came out (I was born in the early 90s) and introduced me to one of my favorite series: Tekken —my cousins whom were all in their early-mid teens would play the OG Playstation games with me whenever I would visit them in South Florida. Fond memories.
The experience of playing video games stands alone as the tip of the spear in the field of media and entertainment. It’s the only art form that allows for all the main 5 senses to be engaged at once (there’s actually more than the 5 senses fyi) —but then there’s: choice making, sight, sound & music, touch, reading, watching, haptics, realtime interactivity, understanding/empathizing the journey, memory & cognition mechanics, etc.. you get the point.
These varied stimuli are happening at once or in sequence when you play video games.
That being said, I grew up on mainly Nintendo handhelds: Gameboy Color, SP, DS, Micro, etc (Honorable mention to the PSP, the only worthy contender to Nintendo’s stronghold on the mobile platform space!) — yet the Switch is something special, it captures what Nintendo is great at: playing games with your friends.
Their whole business model was built upon a huge library of games and being able to accessorize and play in the most easiest of ways with your friends. Whether it was Pokemon, the Mario Bros. franchise, or Zelda—Nintendo got it right.
However…
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild + its sequel: Tears of the Kingdom is the final straw that broke the camel’s back. I want it.
Here’s the ask
I’m a goal oriented personality type. If I didn’t earn something, I don’t allow myself to relax or indulge until the goal is accomplished.
I want a Switch. (I’ve come close numerous times to breaking down and buying one outright), but alas, I don’t feel like I’ve earned a Switch yet.
And I need your help to get one.
That’s where YOU come in
I’ve set myself a personal goal of obtaining real and engaged subscribers who want to learn more and support The Apeiros World Project, so from now until the end of the year 2022, my personal goal is to have 300 subscribers—free or paid—reading this newsletter.
The most direct way to help is to obviously reshare these posts on social media, encourage anyone you know who’s a fan of sci-fi and fantasy to signup, or people who appreciate supporting independent creators.
